  Northern Taiwan
  Taipei city and county have world's highest density of restaurants, shopping centers and night markets. The city combines old and new such as Taipei 101 and old streets of Tamshui, Taoyuan, Hsinchu and Miaoli produce abundantly sweet fruits and are known for Hakka food, leisure farms and aboriginal tribes.
   
  Central Taiwan
 

Sunny and comfortable, central Taiwan is the largest producer of fruits, vegetables, plants and mushrooms. Taichung is inventor of many popular xiaochi, Changhua the agricultural county, Lukang has many historical remains, and Nantou has the scenic Sun Moon Lake and Yushan.

   
  Southern Taiwan
  Southern Taiwan has Choshui River, the longest in Taiwan, flowing through Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan to form the rich soiled Chianan Plain, the major production area of rice. Taiwan's second largest city Kaohsiung is here, and don't miss Kenting's water activities and Spring Scream Music Festival.
   
  Eastern Taiwan
 

East of the Central Range is Taiwan's “pure lands”. Ilan has the celebrated “Green Expo”, Hualien and Taitung are famous for its coast line, Taroko National Park, whale/dolphin watching and more . The opening of Hsuehshan Tunnel in June 2006 greatly reduced the distance from east to west.

   
  Offshore Islands
 

The offshore islands are Penghu, Kinmen and Matzu at the west, Green Island and Lanyu at the east. Penghu was where the Han first cultivated; Kinmen a military base and now a national park; Matzu also a national park known for historical architectures and wine making; Green Island is the place for water activities, and Lanyu for its Tao Tribe.
